About Stretch Marks
Stretch marks or striae, are a very common form of scarring of the skin, caused by a tearing of the dermis. This results in horizontal or vertical lines that are a different color than the surrounding skin – and no skin type is immune. They are most common on the breasts, hips, thighs, lower back, arms and buttocks. Up to 70% of all women will experience stretch marks during their lifetime from puberty, pregnancy, hormonal changes, and weight fluctuations, and about 30% of all men. Some individuals have a pre-disposition to stretch marks by heredity. Stretch marks can also be caused by the use of topical corticosteroids or anabolic steroids and certain medical conditions like Cushings.
Treating Stretch Marks With MCA Micro-needling
The Nouveau Clinic specializes in a unique stretch mark therapy that works on stretch marks of any age. Our goal is to reduce the appearance of stretch marks, by improving the color and texture of these scars at a deeper level. Our procedures work to normalize the skin inside the stretch marks, ultimately making the stretch marks less visible to the eye. We use a combination of MCA, micro-needling therapies, and scar, pre and post- treatment products, specifically designed to wake up the cellular matrix of the skin. Our treatments work by prompting the body’s own natural healing response in the treatment sites.
How it Works
MCA therapy, is a very precise form of clinical dermal needling. Sometimes referred to as dry-needling, or dry-tattooing – no pigments are used to treat the scars. The Micro-needling process is painless, and only creates tiny microscopic wounds in the skin. The body responds to each treatment by producing a burst of new collagen and elastin (skin proteins), and melanocytes (the cells that give your skin color). This gentle prompting of the skin stimulates a natural healing response inside the body. Results are cumulative with multiple treatments, and scar improvements are permanent.
